The Edge of Reason by author George Wilhite is like a perfectly cooked steak ... dark on the outside and a little bloody in the middle. This collection of eight feature films very different stories, each for himself Wilhite considerable talent and great knowledge of the horror genre. His work has been compared to Poe and Lovecraft. But let me tell you, tell their own Wilhite's twisted and distorted vocal style is clearly on each page.

The opening novella, Victor, and the Chaldean Portal is worth the price of admission. Victor is desperate to solve the disappearance of his wife. After he starts with strange visions, he seeks help from a psychologist studying the paranormal. A Victor experimental drug in a broken world, a city between life and death, where he struggles to find his lost wife, and every day is convinced he's crazy prisoner.

The next step is murmur. I got into a good read as Wilhite impressed me very quickly with a history of a soil, but deprived of all human life. Found a former combat soldier and a young girl a special relationship, after he saves her life. To survive, they must trust each other and keep moving to avoid the mysterious noise. The only problem for me was how quickly it ended.
